Description
The story of the series can be roughly divided into two blocks. The first block connects directly to the previous series. In response to the packages that Bassie and Adriaan had to look for in the previous series, the Baron has devised a plan to take revenge on the duo. He poses as their mysterious client with the plan to have them track down a package in Curaçao through a riddle (just like in the previous series). This package contains Handy Harry's bomb. This plan ultimately goes wrong when Vlugge Japie, who also turns out to be in Curaçao, gets wind of this assignment. He thinks the package contains treasure and steals it before Bassie and Adriaan can find it. As a result, he becomes a victim himself. When they return to the Netherlands, the criminals commit a burglary, but do not notice that two little girls see them breaking in. The girls then warn Bassie and Adriaan. When the criminals find out that the police are after them, they manage to escape and hide in an old factory building. Meanwhile, Bassie wins a tour for two people through the United States in a quiz. Adriaan sees this quiz on the TV in their caravan. As a result, he finds out that Bassie has won this trip, so that they can go to America together. For the rest of the series, Bassie and Adriaan travel through well-known locations in America, such as New York, San Francisco, Yosemite National Park, Las Vegas and the amusement parks in Florida. They call an American colleague and find out that he has seen Bassie and Adriaan in New York. They don't let the grass grow over this. They pack their suitcases, steal a car, go straight to Schiphol, take the first plane to New York and then follow them all the way through America, just like in the previous series, making several attempts to ambush the two. to lure them, but every attempt comes to nothing. When Bassie and Adriaan realize in Florida that the three are after them, they come up with a ruse to have the criminals arrested by the police for the burglary that the criminals had committed before coming to America. At the end of their journey they travel to Sint Maarten and lure the criminals to the Dutch part, where they are immediately arrested. The series is set in Curaçao, New York, Washington, San Francisco , the Yosemite Park, Death Valley, Las Vegas, Bryce Canyon, Hollywood, Berkeley, New Providence, an Indian reservation in Monument Valley, the Navajo school Momument Valley High School, the Grand Canyon, several amusement parks in Orlando and on the Caribbean island of Sint Maarten. In the Netherlands, recordings were made at Center Parcs De Limburgse Peel in America in Limburg, at the former commander's house of the Royal Military Police at Stationsweg 84 in Hoek van Holland.
