Description
"The Fosters" is an American family drama series that premiered in June 2013 on the ABC Family television network (later Freeform) and concluded in June 2018. The story follows the lives of the Adams-Foster family, led by a lesbian couple: Stef Foster, a police officer, and Lena Adams, a school assistant principal. Together they raise Stef's biological son and four adopted teenagers in San Diego, California. The first season of "The Fosters" was generally well received and praised for the way it depicted LGBTI+ themes. The series won two GLAAD Media Awards and a Teen Choice Award. On January 3, 2018, Freeform announced that "The Fosters" would end after five seasons. The series concluded with a three-episode finale, which also served as the introduction to "Good Trouble," a spin-off series starring Maia Mitchell and Cierra Ramirez.
