Bassie & Adriaan: De reis vol verrassingen 1994 - 243 locationsEpisode 4: Bassie als president
The hotel The Westin New York Grand Central where Bassie & Adriaan stayed in New York, when the hotel was called The New York Helmsley Hotel.
The shots from the 'Empire State Building' were recorded on the roof of the famous Helmsley hotel. The cameras on the real Empire State Building were disrupted by radiation, so they moved to the hotel where Bas and Aad van Toor were staying in New York. Bas van Toor had to ask permission to make recordings from the top of the Helmsley hotel. Van Toor was given permission in exceptional circumstances and had to leave quickly after the recordings because an important person was in the penthouse hotel room. It eventually turned out that Michael Jackson stayed at the Helmsley hotel and that Jackson continuously monitored the brothers Bas and Aad van Toor during their recordings via the camera system.
