Element water

In Piazza Novona there is a fountain: the Fontana del Fiumi, a classical 17th-century fountain with an obelisk. Here an attempt is made to execute the fourth cardinal with the element of water. Langdon arrives at the fountain just in time and saves the Cardinal from drowning. The cardinal is the only one of the four preferiti to survive the assassination attempt and is eventually elected pope.
