For the shooting of the 'Magic Bus' in the film 'Into The Wild', it was chosen to film near the village of Cantwell in Alaska. The original location of the real bus is about 50 kilometers to the north. Because the original location is very difficult to reach, a copy of the bus was made and chosen to film on the Jack River at Cantwell, which was easier to reach and produce.

The original bus was on the Stampede Trail. Because more and more hikers wanted to visit this bus, dangerous situations arose because the area is very remote. After several rescue operations and fatalities, it was decided to remove the bus from its original location in 2020.

The replica of the bus can still be seen today at '49th State Brewery' near a restaurant.
