The Crown 2016 - 15 locations

The 1966 Aberfan disaster, which killed 116 children and 28 adults when a surplus of mine waste collapsed at a school, plays a key role in the third season . But given the sensitivities surrounding the tragedy, scenes of the disaster were not filmed in Aberfan, but in Cwmaman a few miles away.
