Na Nova Zelândia, próximo ao quadro Matamata, foi construído o set de filmagem dos Hobbits. Um grande conjunto de Hobbiton e The Shire foi construído aqui para os filmes O Senhor dos Anéis. O mesmo conjunto foi construído novamente neste local para os filmes Hobbit. Após as filmagens, o cenário não foi demolido, mas agora serve como atração turística.
